Can or Should the Ekkie be "fixed"?

???Hi, I sincerely hope I don't offend anyone with this question but I have a gorgeous male and I just know that I'll want to get a female sooner or later, how could you not they're just such adorable little creatures?!

Anyway my question: Is it possible, or healthy to de-sex an Ekkie, male or female?

I don't want to end up breeding and I want to be a responsible Ekkie mum. Tah.

As a breeder of other bird I would say no, just make sure there is nothing to encourage breeding and decrese their daylight hours
