Hi All- Just thought I'd share something amusing - she's only been here a few days, but already Gypsy is pretty much the focus of all attention and devotion in the house now (my partner came home last night saying "where's my girl??!!" - and it wasn't me he was refering to!! LOL) . What's amazing, though, how much they are like a small child! She was naughty last night and didn't want to 'go to bed' - she kept trying to get out of her cage as I was putting her in, and carrying on as I was cleaning up "dinner'. It ended up with her flying up onto the curtain rail, above her cage. We have a tall ceiling, so I can't reach up there easily (which she has worked out pretty quickly). Other times she has done this she comes back down when you call - but not last night - no, last night, she ignored my calls, stutting up and down that railing, chuckling and carrying on to herself. Not even an almond could coax her down - she was having fun! So what did I do to win this battle? Well, I simply walked out of the room. There was a stunned silence for a few moments, and a few seconds latter I head a flutter and a small squawk, and she's was at the doorway looking pretty sheepish. I picked her up, had a cuddle, and then she went to bed - without problem. So the lesson learnt last night? - toddler taming tactics work just as well on Eckys as they do on small children!!
